How does self storage work?

Storing with us is simple, here is how:

1. CHOOSE YOUR ROOM SIZE AND LENGTH OF STAY

Our unit sizes range from 10sqft to 250sqft and almost every size in between. Call us for advice or a viewing or use the space estimator to decide what size you need. Bear in mind our storage rooms are 2.70m (8ft 9in) high, so anything that can be stacked will save you space. We will give you a quote straight away, including any applicable discounts.

All storage rooms are available long and short term. We do rolling contracts, so you can stay flexible. If your requirements change over time, you can move to a bigger or smaller room at any time (subject to availability), and with no penalty charges.

2. BOOK YOUR STORAGE ROOM

You’ll need to arrive with photo ID and proof of address to sign your storage agreement in store. Payment for the first rental period will be taken from either your debit or credit card. You will also need a padlock which we can supply if you don’t have one.

We also offer a complete contactless booking procedure, if required.

Once you have signed your agreement, you can start using your storage unit immediately. A unique electronic code gives you 24h access, 7 days a week.

3. PACK YOUR ITEMS AND MOVE IN

We have a range of packaging material and padlocks available, including different types and sizes of boxes, tape, bubble and shrink wrap as well as moving blankets to help protect your belongings.

Move in when it suits you and come and go as you like by using your unique code.

When can I move in?

Give us a call on 01429 22 54 65 and reserve your required unit size. Dependant on availability and relevant documentation provided you can usually move in on the same day.

How much space do I need?

The size of the unit you need depends on what items you would like to store. We offer a wide range of unit sizes to suit all individual needs. Take a look at the space estimator to find out which size is likely to be the right one for you. Alternatively, contact us and we’ll do our best to advise you on the perfect size for your goods.

If my requirements change, can I move to another unit?

Yes. We do appreciate that circumstances can change over time and, dependant on availability, we’ll let you move into a smaller or bigger unit without penalty charges.

Is there a minimum rental period?

Yes, the minimum rental period is 1 week.

What documentation is required to rent a storage unit?

Originals of two of the following documents are required:

  • Passport
  • Driver’s Licence
  • A Recent Utility Bill

Payment for the first rental period by debit or credit card is also required before moving into your storage unit.

Is there anything I cannot store at Pandora Self Storage?

Yes, items you are not allowed to store with us include but are not limited to: food or perishable goods, living creatures, flammable or combustible materials, firearms, explosives, weapons, ammunition or fireworks, radioactive, chemical or biological agents, asbestos or other potentially dangerous materials, illegal substances, drugs or any illegally obtained goods, compressed gases or fuels and items of high value requiring specialist storage such as jewellery, money etc.

If we become aware of you storing any of the above, we will terminate your storage agreement with immediate effect.

Do I need insurance for my goods?

Yes, our Self Storage Agreement requires you to either: Accept our enhanced liability protection cover under StoreProtect; or arrange insurance at your own expense for your stated Maximum Replacement Value for the duration of storage. The charge under StoreProtect is dependant on the value of your goods.

What security measures do you have?

The storage facilities have palisade fencing and are covered by strategically placed 24-hour CCTV cameras outside as well as inside. All corridors are well lit by sensor lighting and all entrances are alarmed and protected by access control to give you added peace of mind. Your storage unit will be padlocked by you and you are the sole key holder.

When can I access my storage unit?

Anytime you like. You can access your unit with your individual access code 24-hours a day, 7 days a week.

Can anybody else access my storage unit?

That’s entirely your decision. Your storage unit will be padlocked and you are the sole key holder and therefore you decide who has got access to your goods. Pandora Self Storage does not hold a key to your storage unit.

Do I have to give notice before vacating my unit?

Yes, unless otherwise agreed, you need to give 14 days notice.

I’ve lost my key or code - what do I do?

Call us on 01429 225 465 for assistance and we’ll do our best to help as soon as possible.

Do you have trolleys I can use for moving items in or out of my unit?

Yes, you have free use of our trolleys and cages to help moving your belongings.

How do I pay?

We take the initial payment from your debit or credit card. Ongoing monthly payments will then be taken automatically by our recurring card payment facility.
